Hey, usually when I work out my abs I only do just the abs. I never really put much energy into the obliques or my sides. (i'm an ectomorph btw) will it look weird if i just continue to work just the abdominal muslces??

I am from the old school that doesn't work obliques. I don't want a square waist. I sure can't say it is good practise, just a statement of fact. If I did work them, I wouldn't use weights.

Squats and deadlifts will work the obliques.

I was doing cable crunches and I found if I just turned my body to the side so im crunching obliques it realllly targets them and puts them to work, can feel the obliques the next day, works great in my opinion if you want them to be worked.
