Hey all! I know I don't post much, but I kinda like to keep myself to myself.. which has made this all the harder!

A quick bit of history is in order, I guess. I came upon John's site last summer from the bb.com forums. I've always been overweight, at my peak I was 24 stone. I've also always carried my weight well (I'm 6'4") and I have a very labour intensive job, so I've never felt it hindered living my life.

Nonetheless over the last three or four years I managed to get myself down to 17-18 stone and keep there with cycles of dieting. Anyway, a couple of months ago I realised it was getting time to loose some weight again, and I thought.. hey, this time, I could go all the way. Lets get skinny for summer! And, why keep putting it back on? I can keep this off, I can change my life. So... well.. I'm trying :o

Thirty-nine days ago I started a transformation site, just kept on my local network. Even though I wanted to, I was way too embarrassed to take it live on the web. Well, that's changed now! I've lost some weight, I'm feeling great (hey, that rhymes..) and this morning I've uploaded the site to http://www.dulindor.freeserve.co.uk.

I feel like this is just the beginning of my new life. I've a long way to go, and keeping it off is going to be harder than loosing it, but I know that one day... :flex:

Here is my first picture and this morning's (115Kg & 103.4Kg):

Thanks! I've found loosing my weight this time round has been so much easier than before, keeping a daily record (even though I've kept it to myself) is really encouraging. I'm almost beginning to believe I'll look like my avatar.. eventually!

There are 14lbs to a stone, so the most I've weighed is 336lbs, I started this cycle of dieting at 253lbs and I'm currently 228lbs.

Sheepish are you doing any cardio? I looked at your site, but I didn't see any listed.

Hey, thanks! Sometimes it's hard to see the changes in yourself day in, day out, even when you've got photos, etc.. when someone else says they can see a difference it's a great feeling :)

I don't do any formal cardio, no. I work for the family business and even though some of my work is home based, three or four days a week I will be on a site labouring.. this is really heavy going, we do a lot of sub-contracting to the local council and have found our niche is doing work that the council's own workmen won't price for. It means a lot of hand-dig drainage jobs, tarmacing where you can't get in a digger or any other plant... it's good money, but v. hard work!

So anyway, most of the day I'm steadily out of breath just from working and I'd consider myself to have a very high level of stamina and aerobic fitness, despite my size.. going for a run or something really would be overkill.

Again, thanks for the motiviation!

Oh, I'd say that counts as cardio!! :D

Thanks man! I'm really glad I decided to put those photos up today, it's really given me a whole load of encouragement and the satisfaction of knowing that I'm doing the Right Thing(tm). As for R&J, yea, I've never watched something so, er..um(!), so regularly and for so long. It's like multimedia prozac.

Hey taffer, I've just had a quick look at your journal. Your stats are pretty similar! I'll keep an eye on your progress, it'll be great to be loosing weight at the same time as someone so similar to me.

Not that I'd suggest something so utterly unhealthy and pointless, but I can't help but say... d'ya wanna race? :db: :bb: :gl:

Hehe.

Heh, the protien shake that feeds the body and eases the mind ;) That is, of course, a list of all the drinks I'm allowing myself on my diet.. they're not (necessarily) meant to be consumed at the same time...

Wow, you're shrinking by the day. I'm really surprised by the speed that some of you guys are going at when losing fat. :tu:

Looks like you are doing awesome! I was really nervouse to post my picks, but I think it helps. I did notice that you now need a belt to keep your pants up now. Great sign!!! I never used to wear a belt and now its the only way I can keep my pants up. :o

Thanks guys! I'm trying not to loose weight too fast, and I'm pretty steady away. But as I said to the guy I was working with today, if I loose too much then... hey, I've never had a problem putting it on! hehe.

Livewire, yeah I've got to use my belt now :) It's paraded out every time I loose a bit of weight, but I'm now on the last hole! Cool. I can't say I'm looking forward to having to buy new clothes (hence wearing almost identical jeans... "you're go shopping? hey, just pick me up a pair of..") but it will give me a great sense of achievement.
