(and a ruler/tape measure etc.) xyz101 Sat, March 12th, 2005, 06:46 PM Thanks for the help...Glad to know that it is as simple as that! rtestes Sat, March 12th, 2005, 07:17 PM I'd like to know mine but I don'T know where to go or how to do it?? should I go to the doctor? You can get them at most gyms, a school or university, ask your buddies. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/acc/fattrack.html xyz101 Sat, March 12th, 2005, 07:42 PM The best measurement is with calipers, you don't have to get naked but they need to get at least 3 measures on arm chest and near navel. I assume there is..Anyways I used the website to figure it out but I'M not sure if it is accurate enough so maybe I'll try it your way. rtestes Sat, March 12th, 2005, 10:49 PM there's no difference if you're wearing a heavy shirt? The calipers are the ones, John Stone uses. What did the site say? Do you agree with it when you look in mirror? gowgow Sun, March 13th, 2005, 02:44 PM Couple of options - start by doing a google search for Bodyfat calculator www.mybodycomp.com is probably the easiest and doesn't require anything but a string. (and a ruler/tape measure etc.) I tried using mybodycomp and it's telling me my bf % is 18.87. My healthometer digital scale says that I'm 28.2% :) I think (hope) that the heathometer is high, but I also think mybodycomp may be on the low side. I'm 6' 200lbs and a 37.5 inch waist. I'm basically pretty lean, except for my big gut. xyz101 Sun, March 13th, 2005, 03:09 PM You take your shirt off! The calipers are the ones, John Stone uses. What did the site say? Do you agree with it when you look in mirror? I think I did everything according to the instructions..I'm 5"11 and 220 lbs and it said I had a 24% bf percentage which sounds about right. I know there's a good looking body underneath the fat, IT's just a matter of bringing it out! I'm just scared to get stretch marks on the belly after fat loss so what should I use in order to prevent those? |
