So after a fasted cardio, is it better for your first meal post-cardio to be whey + some real P/F food or solely real protein / fat food?

Thanks

wondering, for example, if i should have Salmon + whey after cardio or simply salmon (for equal calorie #'s, assuming I'm having no trouble meating protein needs at all. whey would just be used if it was SUPERIOR to the extra salmon)

Real food is always > whey

True, True.

When I started I was taking about 3 of those little cups of whey per day --

then i figured it out and now i try to keep it to 1 or less -- only when I am way behind on my protien for the day will I take more than 1.

My one cup is usually after weights, blended with a banana and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter. I love it -- It's my reward for working hard!

Oh -- and I seem to be seeing more results since I made the switch.

Well I believe it's because whey protein absorbs into your body faster being that it's a beverage, ideal for post work out.

And...cheaper:o

Ideal for postworkout or morning breakfast with cereal as its absorbed quickly.

I'm curious...how much quicker is whey protein absorbed?

Being as its cheaper and very easy to make/carry most of my meals are simply whey and oats. But, I eat at different times depending on how busy I am. Sometimes it's 2 hours inbetween meals, sometimes 3 hours, sometimes less.

But my question really is since it is absorbed quicker, am I risking burning muscle if I typically eat whey and oats every three hours or should I just keep doing what I am doing and not worry about it? :D

For post-cardio, the fast-absorbing action of a whey shake isn't necessary like it would be after lifting. Real food is fine.
