I just had a strange sudden weight drop and was wondering if any of you had similar experiences. After a weekend with a fair amount of cheating, including quite a bit of alcohol on saturday night) I weighed in at 192 lbs on monday morning. This was not much of a surprise since when i had weighed myself on Friday after a very clean week and lots of exercise and was 190. This morning however, I was all the way down to 186.5, a new low. Is it possible to drop 5.5 lbs in 48 hours? Maybe a lot of water weight? I had thought that alcohol dehyrdrates you. I certainly am not complaining about the drop, and will most likely be repeating the conditions that led to it as I have a social engagement where there will be drinking this coming saturday as well. Any thoughts?

No surpise for me. My weight fluctuates quite a bit. 5 pounds in 2 days is a bit high, but I've done it before a few times. If you stay at the low weight, I'd be surprised, usually, I come back up quickly. But hopefully the overal trend is down (or up if you're bulking).

Don't worry about it. This is why some recommend only weighing in weekly. Daily weigh-ins allow you to see this kind of stuff, which is normal, but disheartening.
BTW, my weight swings 7lbs per day. I am 7lbs heavier at night, and the next morning, 4lbs lighter, after cardio, 3 more lbs lighter. WATER BABY!
Also, if I cheat hard, I will put on like 5 lbs, these will come off for the next couple days, taking me back down to my "base weight" actually, I go down lower, because I am still losing from my "base weight" while I am bloated or whatever from the cheat.
I really don't pay much attention to this, I just mindlessly record it, and then I use the data to make a graph. This just helps me see what works over time, as I also log major changes to my routine. <edit> And minor ones too! </edit>
