View Full Version : First Pics...
swschmidt February 21st, 2004, 01:40 AM Here goes....I started my program in early January. I am currently around 144 lbs and 15% or so bodyfat (at least that is what my electronic scale says). My goal is to be up to 150 and 10% body fat by May. Hope this is realistic. I have already made some good strength gains but not too much in size. I have started eating clean(er) and lift 3-4 days a week with 1 day a week of cardio. My problem is that I stick to my program for 5 days of the week and party like a rockstar on the weekends and I am sure that that is hindering my progress. Below are some pics with more info on my progress coming soon...www.schmidt5.com/fitness. Any suggestions on how achieve my goals would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...

Well, the odvoius thing would be to increase your cardio and try not being the rock star on the weekends. If you're killing yourself and dieting all week and powering the food and alcohol on the weekends, all that you are doing is working all week to work off the weekend.
escher February 21st, 2004, 08:20 AM I know how college is (assuming thats where you are partying!), and its a lot easier said then done to not go nuts on the weekends. I did the same thing in college. (What else are you going to do in northern Wisconsin?) Working out during the week isnt going to hurt, thats for sure. Dont expect huge gains though during the week, and you said it yourself, you're putting on tons of calories & carbs from the alcohol & food. I'm not saying you cant get to your goal with your current lifestyle You look in decent shape, and dont have too far to go. Just keep excercising, and when your partying slows down, you'll start shedding the small amount of weight you have left.
John Stone February 21st, 2004, 09:48 AM You could reach your goals by May, but you'll probably find that your weekends filled with alcohol and poor food choices are going to prevent you from doing so. My advice is to think about what is most important to you and then proceed accordingly. You don't have to give up what you enjoy entirely, but sacrifice is part of the game almost anytime you want something that's hard to get. If it were easy, we'd all have ripped abs and perfect bodies. Good luck with your choice.

Thanks for the motivation, I think I already knew the answer to my question, I just needed to hear it from someone else.
A little more about me, I am 24, work in IT for a bank, and going to grad school in the evenings. All of which keeps me pretty busy. Trying to squeeze in working out has been difficult. Below is my typical meal plan, I would love to get some feedback on it.
Thanks...

Jimbo February 21st, 2004, 02:34 PM In pics 1 & 2, you can see hints of a six-pack. Just imagine, if you cut down the partying a tad, you'll be trading one six-pack for another. :tu:
