I heard a lot of people talking about ingesting dextrose immediately after a workout session. I was wondering if the product below is worthwhile buying to use after weight sessions.

As for malodextrose (sp?), what would you say about that? I'm trying to refine my post-workout diet to obtain the best results. The only thing is I see that this says "Creatine Transporter". What does that mean? Thanks!

The absorption of creatine is insulin driven. Taking creatine with a carbohydrate increases the production of insulin and therefore the absorption of creatine.

As for malodextrose?? Not sure if you mean Maltodextrin... I would recommend having a Dex/Maltodextrin mix (50/50). As Dex is a simple carb and Maltodextrin being a complex carb.

Although technically Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate, Maltodextrin results in a glycemic response similar to that of Dextrose.

Really post work out have a mix of your chosen carb, whey protein, creatine and glutamin. If you shop around you could probably source the stuff relatively cheaply.... Or you could pay twice as much and buy an off-the-shelf all in one product.

Ive just used a currency converter and the Dex you've highlighted seems relatively cheap - but then again here in the UK EVERYTHING is expensive.....

Maltodextrin it seems is more difficult to come by than dextrose it seems. I can't find it very readily online, and while I haven't been to my local chain nutrition/supplement store, I hear that they don't usually have them either. Any ideals on where I can get some of it?

Did you really try online? I just googled buy maltodextrin (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2003-34,GGLD:en&q=buy+maltodextrin) and found many options...

Here's one: http://www.herbalremedies.com/justcarbs2lb.html

Hmm, upon checking my search history I found out why.
Malodextrin isn't easy to find, but MalTodextrin is! :D
