Need some advice. I have been using the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey for several months now. I like the results I've seen with it for the most part, but, if I use it as instructed, it gives me gas which is rather offensive to my family and friends. :o
I was wondering what experiences have you guys had with other brands. Which would you recommend that have the least potential to offend? :D
Thanks in advance.

My guess is you need more fiber in your diet. A lack of fiber allows the protein to sit in your intestines and decompose, thus yielding some nasty smells.

Having just changed to All The Way 20/30- I'll attest that the brand/processing/type of protein makes a huge difference to me- and I keep my fiber intake high. Thw ATW leaves me the least gassy/bloated of any I've ever used. Designer Whey could be pretty uncomfortable at times.
But the tales of the rather "explosive" nature :D of high-protein intake have been told across many a fitness forum.
You can always try a product called "Beano" - works for some.

Ya I just started second semester in college for the school year, and Ive been having to rip ass constantly, and I must admit they are damn nasty, and its so hard to hold them in during class! So I browsed some posts on here and people recommended taking digestive enzymes. So a few weeks ago I bought some GNC Preventative Nutrition Multi-Enzyme Formula. Multi-enzyme formulas are the ones that have a lot of ingredients that end in -ase, for example Protease is an ingredient that breaks down proteins, and lipase is for breaking down fats, etc. These pills didnt come cheap, but what can i say its GNC. Im sure you can by the same stuff at any stores, just look for the types that are multi-enzyme formulas by looking at the ingredients. By the way i finally decided to try some of the pills today, and I did see some improvement so far. It says to take two of the capsules before every meal, but I only take them in the morning when I eat my high fiber oats, etc. which seem to give me the most gas. Plus the bottle only contains 120 capsules for 18 bucks so i cant waste them all yet! And i think just about any brand of whey protein powder would give you gas, cuz it is simply 100% whey no matter who makes it!
