I was full steam ahead with weightloss and looking awesome...and then thrus nite I broke my hand.
Does anyone have advice for me? I think I could probably do walking on the treadmill but i dont know for sure what activity level I could realy do yet. I know weights are basically out. maybe just body weight squats or something.
anyone been here? know things I can do to not screw up how great I was doing? no idea how long this cast will be on and how quick i will be able to use thehand once it is off =[

oh yeah, been there done that. Broke my hand in two places and shattered a knuckle 5 years ago. I still worked out. If you go to a gym, there are many choices. I broke my right hand, which is my stronger hand. I still worked my chest with only my left hand on the iso-lateral hammer strength equipment. It can be a bitch to get the 45lb plates on though. I had to use my left hand and the lower part of my forearm to get the plates up there. People would look at me funny, but I didn't care. It actually worked out well because I trained my weaker side of my body for awhile.
you can also do lateral raises and even bicep curls by using the cable cross over machine. Use the lower cable and the velcro strap they usually have lying around ( this is usually used on the ankles for leg raises and such). Just strap it to your forearm and curl away. Granted it's not as effective as normal curls, but I would have gone crazy if I couldn't at least do something.
You can also use the pec deck if it uses your forearms and not the grips.
Good luck.
