MAB Thu, February 17th, 2005, 11:08 PM I was on hydroxycut for about a month and saw no noticeable differences. The best thing to do is to have a very good diet. My brother was on Trim Spa and he lost about 10 lbs in 2 weeks but eventually put it all back on. The best thing is a sound diet. Just my two cents.
seanp99 Sun, February 20th, 2005, 11:06 AM I tried Hydroxycut, Lipo6, and animal cuts, I didn't notice a a bid change until I cleaned up the diet and started doing 45 minutes of fasted cardio in the morning and lifting at night. I'm 6'4" and was at 250. I also use Adi's automated fitness log and after about 6 weeks I'm down to 229. I'm doing the max-ot program. I start the third week tomorrow. I've adjusted Adi's log to lose two pounds a week. I think everyone else will tell you, clean diet is the biggest thing. I still want to lose another 10-15 pounds and then start to bulk up. I really like Adi's program to help you keep track of stuff. Good luck.

1FastGTX Sun, February 20th, 2005, 04:39 PM I'm not going to list every supplement I've taken because frankly that would take me way too long. Since I started lifting years ago I have unfortunately thrown away too much money on useless crap (smilex comes to mind, years ago).
Some do work, like MRPs (not really a supplement but whatever), protein powder, creatine of course, some ECA stacks (I liked Ripped Fuel and also doing it myself with straight ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin pills). I also sorta liked the N02 supps when they didn't give me headaches (though they seemed to have more of an effect in the bedroom than in the weight room). Multis are also good to always have in one's arsenal.
I'll second what everyone else is saying. There is no pill out there better than a good diet, training routine, and rest schedule. Simply increasing your meals (going from 3 to 6 a day) will do wonders. Drinking more water will make a dramatic difference. I also like structuring my meals so that I sort of "eat to fuel activity" somewhat; centering most (not all but most) of the carbohydrate intake of the day around my weight lifting time (pre, post, and post-post workout is when I get the vast majority of daily carb intake).
You can experiment with some supplements like ECA but they're not going to do anything without a proper diet, training, and rest plan going for you. You might lose some WEIGHT, but I don't think most people on this website are interested in just losing WEIGHT. Losing fat should be your goal. Weightlifting, diet, and rest are going to help bump that metabolism so that you can burn fat and build/maintain muscle.
Finally, for the guys, eating more fat is also a big plus in my opinion. I don't mean go out and eat BK every day, but try to get your fat intake up there. Flax oil is a good way to do this. Some people like Natural Peanut Butter (I think it tastes horrible though). More fat in your diet will help a lot; I know it helped me.

Great bodies are made at the gym and in the kitchen. They can't be found inside bottles.
If you rely on a pill/suppliment in order to lose body fat you miss out on learning how to adjust your own actions to cause the reaction you are looking for from your body. This is an important skill. If you rely on a pill to help shed body fat when needed, you aren't taking responsibility for your own system, and this is a big mistake.
Not only that, but I believe there are significant risks with a lot of the fat-burners out there. Why take any risk when just changing your own habits will cause just as dramatic, if not a MORE dramatic result? And supplimenting your result with a pill will not help you find your equilibrium without it, once you are at your goal.
muscadellic Mon, February 21st, 2005, 11:59 PM i only wanted supplements to try to speed up the process...i wasnt trying to rely completely on supplements but i know exactly what you mean...so far what i have been using is whey protein from gnc because its been hard for me to get the right amount of protein and have been noticing that ive been losing muscle and i was thinking about taking creatine but i dont trust it for losing body fat

Whey powder is fine to use. You can do more than make protein shakes with it. You can make your own MRPs with it (experiment with fruits, eggs, whipping cream, dex and malto, etc.). I'd suggest not buying from GNC though, way overpriced. Buy online.
Creatine can be used while cutting. You'll get some water weight especially when loading I believe, but it can be used. It wouldn't be my first choice though.
Get multivitamins.
Glutamine is a decent addition to your arsenal.
Caffeine is very good for cutting cycles in my opinion. Just drink straight up coffee. You'll love how you look after a 1/2 pot of coffee too; look in the mirror, you'll be all "veiny." :)

havent we all :)
as far as the question
for fat loss
Thermorexin
EC stack (pure ephedrine)
Clen
are what I have found to be effective
Skoorb Tue, February 22nd, 2005, 05:48 PM To lose fat I've tried the home-concocted ECA stack. It works well. I've also tried, with less success, some of the store bought (GNC and what not) variants.
That said, I do not take them. They are not healhty for you. The level of healthiness is arguable, and they're not as bad as the media loves to promote, but taking in 400+ mg of caffeine a day plus 40+ mg of ephedrine is simply not good for your body long term...I say long term, because if you rely on these to lose weight you'll rely on them to keep it off.
The best way to lose weight is increase excercise and/or cut calories. Anything else is of secondary benefit, and if you can't master the first no supplement in the world will help you. You don't need them.

I disagree, that may be often true because people always look for the "easy way". But using something to accellerate and aid in reaching a goal does not mean that it will be a neccesity thereafter. I know plenty of people that only use stims to lean out and then come off comepletely.
