vatechguy Thu, February 17th, 2005, 03:53 PM So you didn't mention how long the 60 pounds took to come off. From the look of the picture - you look like you're doing the right things.
80 pounds in 4 months is pretty ambitious - and probably a little unrealistic. I'd say 40 is doable if you really hammer the diet and cardio - but others will tell you thats still too much too fast.
Remember - you didn't gain 140 pounds in one year - give yourself some time to do it right and make the lifestyle changes to keep it off for good.
Check out this thread - it's got 70% of what you need to know.

By the way - you definately look more healthy - keep it up!

Congradulations on your fat loss! :claplow: 60 lbs is awesome! How long did it take you to lose?
80 lbs by the end of this June is probably not possible. The end of June is roughly 20 weeks from now, and that would be 4 lbs per week. The lower your weight gets, the slower it will come off. I think somewhere between 40 to 60 lbs could be possible. You will need to stick to your strict diet, keep doing your cardio, and add in some weight training. The muscle you add from weight training will help boost the fat loss.
I think that a good workout for you to do would be Ripped, Rugged, and Dense v2.0 (http://www.ruggedmag.com/index.php?type=Article&i=3&a=8). It is a 4 day on, 1 day off workout that will get your whole body. The workouts consist of two exercises that take about 20 mins/day, and you can follow it up with your cardio (but maybe only 40 mins on workout days). Another workout that gets really good fat loss results is Turbulence Training by Craig Ballantyne (http://www.cbathletics.com/issues/80.htm). That workout is longer, so you probably wouldn't want to put cardio right after it.
Great job so far, and keep going and keep dedicated! You will be 210 before you know it!
Blacktalon Fri, February 18th, 2005, 12:05 AM congrats, keep on going, just make sure you get your daily requirments for nutrients etc
tha_chosenson Fri, February 18th, 2005, 02:19 AM thanks ya guys! i lost the 60 pounds in 3 months! the weight just melted off, i slowed a little but it's picking up! my diet approach is kinda lowcarb, here's an ex:
7:00 1 hr cardio on elliptical :o
8:45 protein shake (not breakfast person-lol)
9:30 cup of oatmeal
12:00 tuna & salad w/ olive oil
3:00- protein shake/or bar
6:00 chicken cutlet w/spinach
if u have any ideas for my diet i'll be glad to know, soon ill be tweaking it a bit!
Stecman Fri, February 18th, 2005, 03:24 AM Jeez man, your starving yourself. That's not a lot of calories there. I'm surprised you have energy to do cardio/lift... Especially after 3 months.
You have a lot more drive/determination then I do...
On the other hand, I'm sure the people on here have some great ideas on why the rest you lose you should do it a bit slower. That way you can retain more muscle...

When I came down from 350 I was able to eat nothing but meat and water until I hit 220 without energy issues, that took just a little over 8 months.
Body recomposition as a true endomorph has proven to be a real b*tch though. Once you get down to a normal size muscle loss gets harder and harder to avoid.
DcK Fri, February 18th, 2005, 02:53 PM Wow, congrats man! Good job... I think 80lb is a bit too fast, you've done really well thus far!! Good Job!

If you lost 60lbs in 3 months with this ^ diet and an hour of eliptical,
I think you will do well by upping the calories and adding some weight lifting.
Try to get about 2grams of protein per kg of lean body mass and lift as heavy as you can.
This will decrease the chances of you losing muscle, it's working for me, SO FAR!!
Good Luck :tu:
reve Sat, February 19th, 2005, 03:03 PM you dont want to lose the weight that fast, you will have so much loose skin...
tha_chosenson Sun, February 20th, 2005, 02:55 AM lose skin-ewhhhhhhh-lol i really do need to take it slow! with dieting and exercise for me it goes at it's own speed-which is fast for some reason, in the past i lost weight so quick-and yes gained it back quicker.
Graphite Sun, February 20th, 2005, 12:21 PM I think you might have some issues with loose skin after a few couple of pounds.. Good luck though
tha_chosenson Thu, February 24th, 2005, 03:55 PM i lost 5 pounds this week and feeling great! people with similiar stats who were successful in thier goals please email me your be4/after pics/and or workout & meals plans! thanks i'd appreciate it!!!!!
bboynut Thu, February 24th, 2005, 06:29 PM Wow.....incredible! It took me 4 years to shed 110 pounds (with a 9-month pregnancy stalling me in there for a while).
I will tell you this.....and I believe it's a proven fact, however, I couldn't tell you where I've heard or seen it from....lol....but, the longer it takes to lose the weight, the better the chance of keeping it off for good!
It sounds like you're going gang-busters....just be careful.
Congratulations! You've done a good job so far - and believe me, I know how hard it is....

I'de agree that 40 - 60 pounds is probably healthier and more realistic by the end of June, but people can do amazing things.
Diet tweaks: Your food choices are great, I added up approx. cals and macros and I'm worried your a little low on the cals, and your body will "rebound" I'de add another chicken cutlet to dinner (2 Chix and spinach) and something with protein and fat before bed (cottage cheese is always a good choice, but tuna and olive oil, walnuts, almonds, flax seeds and jerkey...)
tha_chosenson Sat, February 26th, 2005, 03:44 PM that for the tips and info everyone! im 20, 6'0 and 283 now what do u guys think a ideal weight for me would be? great news also im no longer a 48' waist but 40'...

tha_chosenson Fri, March 4th, 2005, 12:36 AM today im down to 276- awhhhhh can't wait till 210 i can taste it! do anyone now of a good protein shake that alright with a low carb diet??
MUGSY Fri, March 4th, 2005, 11:01 AM Body recomposition as a true endomorph has proven to be a real b*tch though. Once you get down to a normal size muscle loss gets harder and harder to avoid.
Muscle loss is getting harder to avoid because you are staving yourself, you need more calories than what you posted above. I started at 267lbs approx 10 months ago and as of this morning I’m at 190lbs. I bet I take in double the calories you do every day.
Don't forget that your muscles are a big part of your metabolism starving them will only make it harder to lose fat.
Congrats on your losses so far! before you know it you will be able to see abs! :flex: :tu:

Keep it up it you will be at 210 and lower before you know it.
My stats:
May16th 2004 - 286, 50%BF
March 7th 2005 - 205, 21%BF
I use Pro Performance Mega Whey (GNC) 5 carbs per serving. (40g Protein)
I would agree that you need to add some calories. maybe add a meal just stay clean.
