d-andy

I've been toning myself slowly for a couple of months, losing fat while keeping overall weight. The progress is glacial, I've gone from 18% BF to around 14% in about four months, which leads me to believe I can reach my goal of daring to mow my lawn without a shirt on this summer :-)
The problem is that the last 6-7 weeks my fingers and toes have been freezing, and I'm generally feeling chilly even though the indoor climate hasn't changed. I've even started wearing slippers around the house, something I've never done before in my 42 years of life.
Does anybody else experience this? I thought my BF % loss shouldn't affect me this way. Male menopause? ;)
I'm not worried really, but it's annoying, and I'd like to know why.

I don't have a whole lot of information on this, but I can say I have suffered from the same problem for a while (though when it's -11 out I think I have a valid excuse on those days!)
My only suggestion to you is to look at your calories and make sure you are getting enough. If you aren't, your body may be trying to conserve energy. Another thought is that when you eat your blood rushes to your digestive track - which lowers the circulation in other areas. Is it always happening after you eat? It frequently does with me.
Either way, try doing 20 pushups or jumping jacks, I think you will be surprised how just a little activity can wake up your circulation again!
I'm curious if anyone knows about this too however. My whole hands and feet go blue - literally. And stopping it usually requires a hot bath or a heating pad - socks don't help.
Hope you warm up soon! :)

Nice goal! Wecome to the land of frozen-ass and high heating bills, mate!
I used to be always warm. My wife would complain about cold hands, feet etc.. Now the tables are totally reversed. I noticed it first dropping from 200lb to ~165. I'm now ~150-155 8-9%BF and freezing my butt off waiting for summer!
Eating only helps mildly. I'm afraid it will probably get worse as you loose more fat. Low BF is not good for winter hiking/climbing/camping I can assure you!
