MAX-OT says you should aim for a weight you can do between 4-6 reps at.
My problem is, for many of the lifts i can do say 6 reps first set, then 4, then 2 or 3.
I'm using the full 3 minutes sometimes for resting time but still i don't seem to have the recovery to go again.
What i've been doing is aiming for 6-8 on the first set, knowing it'll leave me in the 4-5 range for the last set.
would you recomend using even longer rests? still aim for 6 om first and live with the fact i might be at 2-3 reps by the end? or go with what i've been doing and aim slightly higher for the first set.
This only seems to be certain exercises, the compound ones are no problem.
