View Full Version : My perfect cardio plan (hopefully)
lilvietboi Sat, February 12th, 2005, 07:00 PM Okay, after reading ALOT of threads about fasted morning cardio i decided to make my morning schedule is like this:
My running days are Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat
6:00 AM Wake up
6:10 AM Fasted moderate cardio (45 mins)
7:05 AM Drink Protein Shake with flax seed (or fish) oil and a multivitamin
7:50 AM Eat Oatmeal mix with Protein powder and go to school
So i have a pro/fat meal 10 mins after training and a carb/pro meal 55 mins after training.
I got one question though, is fish oil better than flax seed? I'm going to the shop tomorrow so i need to know what's better. And i never took any of those, so how much should i take? Oh yeah, i start my 1st run on Mon :tu:

If it is, I will cut one.

ya, i'll prolly just eat plain oatmeal without the protein. besides that, does everything look good?

Fish is better than flax, but both is better.
You can add cottage cheese to the oats for a really slow digesting carb/protein combo. Also ground flax in the oats is good for thickening it up (you will need extra water or milk). That + sugar free syrup = yum!
wh0rume Mon, February 14th, 2005, 02:28 PM careful with the protien shake 10 min after the cardio. Sure, if it had ZERO CARBS it would be fine - but most don't. And i believe even the slightest carb will stop the fat loss on a dime.
what i do is i'll go running for 50 minutes, take my shower, and then cook some eggs (whites and yolk). this way i know im not putting any carbs in. My protien shake has 5g of sugar, but ive also bought protien that has as little as 1g of sugar - but i think this is still enough to stop the fat burn.
(notice im saying I THINK - im not sure how much carbs it takes to stop the fat burn, but im assuming even the smallest amount will do it.)

I dont think 1g would make a difference to fat burning or even 5g. even 6 six egg whites have 1grams of carbs in there. so if you were going to stick to the 1gram rule you have to get rid of the eggs.
