Hey people a quick question here. I am currently working out 5 days a week lifting and cardio, so on monday i would do my biceps and abs then do 30 min of cardio. I workout on Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri, and Sun and lift all days then do cardio after lifting. My question is should i bee doing that or should i have a split where i do 3 days of lifting and 4 days of cardio. Im looking to loose 20lbs by June so what would be better? Thank you. Oh and stats are 16 years old 5'8 167lbs around 21% bf.. :tucool:

There are two schools of thought in this forum . One is you can cut and bulk simultaneously. The other is cut first and then bulk.

As far as my personal experience, I just started 2 months ago and did fasted cardio for 2 months and eliminated my spare tire as well as dropped 20 pounds or so. Now I am looking at weights.

If your primary goal is to lose fat, why just can't do only fasted cardio for a month and see where you are going

You need to have claen food which is the most important factor of all the three

Whatever it is just keep doing it. Don't stop it; you wll see the results

Do you have a clean diet plan in place to achieve your goal? Without a clean diet, it will be hard to reduce fat and instead you will end of losing muscles

My opinion, for what it is worth is that at your age and BF you will probably be able to put on muscle and loose fat at the same time. Normally for cutting I would go with 2 lifting session/week, either upper/lower split or both full body. However, you might try 3-4 lifting workouts instead. The exception to this is if you feel like you already have quite a bit of muscle.

You definitely need to get a solid 6-meal/day diet doing.

Again, at your age and (presumed) experience I would try the 30 mins cardio after lifting, and try to get 45 mins in on non-lifting days. If you don't like it, or feel you are not loosing the fat quickly enough and/or not actually gaining any muscle, drop back to 2 days lifting, no cardio afterwards and do the cardio on the other days.

Separate cardio and lifting. Don't do them together. They will counteract each other and lead to sub par results.
