I just read the inroductory section (skill training) and it looks rather interesting. I certainly agree that running technique is extremely important in maintaining fitness and preventing injuries.
I had to do a lot of work on my running technique with my physiotherapist after developing tendonitis under my knee caps and it worked wonders.
If youve never analysed your running technique its certainly worth looking into.

The first rule in pose running should be to not wear that ridiculous looking speedo suit.

I think the runner in the magazine was wearing that for the bike leg-I would hope he wouldn't choose that outfit just for running.
I've read about the pose method a bit and it seems very logical-it's hard for a lot of people to accept that there is a specialized technique to running but the injury rate in the sport is very high.
I used to run cross country and track and always always always was getting shinsplints. I had the opportunity to be filmed once and it was a horrifying sight. Legs and knees twisting and being pulled in all directions.
The overall principle of pose running seems to be to eliminate tension where it doesn't belong in the stride by centering the weight of the head over the pelvis with a slight forward lean from the hips to compensate for the forward motion. As you run faster the bend should be slightly greater, but overall the pose method has people looking more upright than 'normal', whatever normal is.
I still don't get how Michael Johnson ran so fast being as upright as he was.

the homepage changed. The old picture was from triathlete magazine and showed a dude running in a spandex halfsuit-type outfit.
