Here are mine - eck!!! :( :o
I hope clean eating and HIIT and lifting can do something about that damn crap around my waist, and give me some definition. I'm 6'-5", 198 so not overweight, but I'm that pudgy skinny guy, ya know?

You don't look that bad man, you'll rip right up in no time as long as you eat clean and stick to your workouts. We're all behind you, good luck!

You're carrying most of it around the mid section. With a clean diet and exercise you'll be ripped in no time.

Good luck!

I'm right there with you, Def. I'm the same body type as you (pudgy & skinny).
John and Evil are right - eat clean and workout.
If I would have thought to take pictures when I started, you wouldn't be able to tell your pictures from mine (except I'm a little shorter, 5'11).
I started in November, and I'm down 34 pounds today. I still have a little bit of a gut, but much better. I'm not saying that you will have the same exact results (who knows, you might do better) - I'm saying that you will most definitely have results. I have about 10 more pounds to go. I'm anxious to start the bulking phase when I get there. Apparently, people like us are 'Hard gainers', and I hate the shape of my arms - yours are better at the start. The good news is that I've seen some definition develop, but no mass (which isn't to be expected right now, but I can dream). Hopefully mass will come at the right phase.
We can do it, Def. :tu:

Thanks for the great input and kind words. Yes, we can do it. So you are saying that back in Nov. you looked like I do now, but now you have lost 34 lbs? THat's great!
I guess I'm anxious b/c I want to make sure I make the best of the next 3 months before the summer. I can't deal with another summer where I am self concious of myself, esp upper body. I just want to get somewhat cut. Really cut would be even better.
After going through a slackoff fall and holiday season, I jumped back on the horse after New Years and started the South Beach Diet, and began lifting again. That got me going. I've def. lost some since Jan 15th, but I def. thought I would see a bigger change by now. I guess I had more fat than I thought, and now that stuff is gone, cause I look about the way I did last summer when I was working out 3 times a week, but not eating perfectly. I guess patient and persistent should be my MO.
Anyway, my diet now is about a 45/30/25 split, no bread, no beer, low gi carbs, etc so I feel it's pretty clean. Any other specific tips on your end from your loss of 34 lbs? (ie. nutritional or workout?)
That's phenomial! Good luck! :claplow:

"Really cut" is better than "somewhat cut", but if you attain "somewhat cut" by summer, be extremely proud of yourself. It would be terrible if expectations set a little too high overshadowed real & significant progress. I'm still trying to get to "really cut", which will probably take awhile.
I think you're starting right by taking pictures. I didn't do this . When I started, I was much fatter than I would admit to myself - the image in the mirror was being altered by my eyes. As a result, I thought I always looked the same - even when the scale was telling me I was losing. It wasn't until people started to notice that I felt I was making real progress. If I had been taking pictures, I would have noticed sooner.
As far as diet/workout, pre-November, I would eat tons of fast food, drink tons of non-diet pop (diet pop makes me hungry), and drink some wine nightly before I went to bed. Never exercised.
So, I took it in stages. The first thing I did was replace the fast food with clean foods. I slowly started lifting weights.
Around the middle of December, I felt myself plateau-ing (sp), so I added fast walking (probably 5 times a week, 20 minutes, 4.5 mph)
(By the way, I was really feeling much better in general by now)
Around the beginning of January, I was plateau-ing again, so I started HIIT.
About the second week in January, I took pop & wine completely out of my diet. I really thought that getting rid of pop would be the hardest step of all, but it was the easiest ! What a nice surprise that was! I replaced the caffeine with more coffee in the morning, and I replaced the liquid with water - and I think that was the trick. Water really works wonders.
Now there's not anything else to cut out, so I anticipate that these last 10 lbs will go slowly. One thing I can do is to work on the 5-6 meals per day instead of 3. This will be a challenge with my schedule, but I think I can work it out.
I avoided South Beach and Atkins, but your split seems pretty reasonable to me.
Maybe you should change your MO from "patient and persistent" to "stubborn" - the terms are somewhat interchangable, but "stubborn" seems more dramatic.
Best of luck, and keep me posted on your progress. :flex:

I've just turned up the heat and started doing 3 sessions of HIIT, hopefully that will begin to really cut into the remaining fat.

Good luck to you!
