I am new here so here is a little backround on me! I used to smoke for about 6 years and just quit about 6 months ago, I started to gain weighrt when I quit, so I strted to work out again. I have read forums and researched excercises in order to help me on my quest to remain my smoker weight of 120lbs at 5'5". Not too much to ask right? Well, I started to go to the gym and changed the way I eat. I work out anywhere between 1-2 hours a day cardio and weight training twice a week. I have cut most of the crap out of my diet such as candy, soda, white bread, I started to drink a lot more water, I am up to about 1-2 liters a day, opposed to 4 cokes! I eat wheat toast instead of white, I eat healthy soups for lunch and turkey sandwhiches, depending on my mood. I have never been a bog calorie counter, but i think I probably reduced them a lot, but I am not usually hungry through out the day. I watch my portions size for breakfast and lunch, then eat a good size dinner, usually, potatoes/rice and a veggie like corn or green beans, avacado or artichoke, and a regular sized peice of beef or pork or chicken. My problem is since I started all of this, i have added 6 inches to my waist and at least an inch on my hips. My thighs are tonig up, but still getting bigger. I have always had really muscular legs from my earlier days of volleyball and softball and track. my usual cardio workout consists of about an hour to an hour and a half of walking ten running five on the treadmill at about 4.0-6.0 miles per hour. Or I do the eliptical for about 20 then the bikes for 20 then walk for 20. I don't know what I am doing wrong but i desperately need some help. I am running out of clothes! None of my pants fit and i have a hugely extensive wardrobe, sad I know but please any advice would be great. Almost ready to start smoking again if I can't get this weight off!
