I have gone on a major transformation from last year. I found John's site back in march.

I am 5'6 i went from 200 to 152 at my lowest. I did it with a clean diet cardio 3 times a week and weights 3 times a week. I beleive my BF was 12`14% at it's lowest. plus it was during spring, summer, fall. I am always more active with warm weather, would go running once a week and play some sports also, Well being in Massachusetts in the winter, i am not going to go out and run.

Well,

during the holidays i decided to drop the cardio and wieght lift 5-6 days a week, I am @ 157 right now and am not liking the feeling, i don't think i have made that great of strides muscle wise. but i think that i have added 2~3% BF back on. I would guess i'm around 16% BF now

Is it possible to drop the fat with what i am doing now? or do i have to add cadio back in,

thanks

Brian

What exactly are you doing?? You said you just dropped the cardio, but what does the rest of your diet/routine look like? It is possible to loose fat without without cardio. You just need to take in less then you expend, calories that is. But your diet needs to also be clean. Watch what your putting into your body. Cardio just speeds up the fat burning process, plus is good for keeping cholestoral(sp?) in check.

It is possible but it will be a bit more difficult. You will have to keep a close eye on your diet. Is it possible for you to use a treadmill, stationary bike, etc? Joining a gym on a month-to-month basis might be good for the winter months so you have access to those....

Have you considered jumproping? Great cardio workout, effectively boost coordination, and its extremely affordable.

I second this. Fun exercise that gets your whole body moving, and it costs about 8 bucks for a good rope.

thanks for the replys.

I have a exercise bike at the house so that's not a problem. My diet is 6 meals a day. about 300~400 a meal. I eat all natural and most organic. I don't eat red meat so i get all my protein from chicken and fish.

I guess it time to start the cardio back up. plus i am nixing the bulk. I never got to the 6 pack abs, and that's why i started the transformation, i really don't care how much i lift, it doesn't really matter as long as a can keep the muscle that i have.

I am going to get right back on that cardio bike and get to the 8 to 10 % BF level. I am the closest i have ever been to it, and i wanna get there!

it is definatly possible to lose body fat without doing cardio. but your progress will be alot slowler vs doing cardio in the am.

you will have to have your diet spot on and lift the weights really hard.

what your basically trying to do is build your muscle mass. more muscle mass = faster metabolism. the faster your metabolism, the more you will burn.. so in time you will eventually burn off body fat.. mind you this is going to take a very long time

i know "us bloke" aren't "suposed" to do it but Step aerobics really is a great work out. I got roped into a step class back when i thought i was pretty fit and it nearly killed me.

There is no substitute for cardio.

I dont think anyone should totally eliminate cardio even if they are "bulking" because cardio gives the body so many benefits besides fat loss.

It helps boost your metabolism, it maintains psychological well being(endorphin release), and it is very healthy for your heart.

and it is very healthy for your heart.

That's why they call it "cardio"! (from the Greek for heart) :p
