Anyone use Personal Training Workstation from www.workoutware.com?

They have versions for Windows, Macintosh and Palm OS which is really slick because I have to use all three (Mac and Palm OS at home, Windows at work).

Just curious if anyone is using it, I'm thinking about spending the $30.

If not, check it out... worth the free 30 trial anyway.

I use a low tech clipboard. I write down my reps, weights, and notes onto it. I then transfer this to a spreadsheet at the end of each 8 week stretch. This works for me, and I can make pretty graphs. I do the same w/ my weight, bf% and measurements. I have another clipboard in the bathroom, where I record my weight twice a day (yes, I am obsessed, or dedicated as it were). I record my measurements and bf% weekly. I transfer these to the spreadsheet monthly.

I store the spreadsheet on a webdav folder on my apache server at home. This is firewalled (OpenBSD) to allow access only from work (Windows) and home (Gentoo Linux), thus I can use my laptop (FreeBSD) or any workstation (Choose your flavor) to edit the spreadsheet (where my nutritional data is as well), the versioning/checkout/checkin capabilities ensure it is always up-to-date. I have toyed with the idea of installing a mini-itx box in the workout room, but as some who saw my pictures of it know, I don't have room there right now! BTW, I use OpenOffice.org, the cross-platform/kick-ass office suite:

Ummm, ok... that was a whole lot of info I didn't really need to know since I was asking about a specific piece of software and wanting reviews on it.

Not an elaborate network setup with security and all this other hoopla just so you can log your progress in an inefficient manner... twice.

Sorry, your post just made me think that it would be nice to have an additional workstation in the workout room, that is all. The clipboards are just because workstations are far away, and locked, so it is faster to just use them, even entering data twice is faster that way, as I can do it in data entry mode in one sitting.

Sorry if that is too much info, I guess I don't believe in that term :-). Gimme all you got, I will parse what I need.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of the following...

Creating the routines at work during lunch break, syncing the routines to my Palm device, logging the workouts as I go on the Palm, then resyncing.

This means I only enter information once, and can have it on my home and/or work computer. A Palm device is small enough to fit in my pocket, or anywhere else for that matter, making it both easy and convenient to use.

By the way, I did install the Open Office suite, haven't used it yet but will look into it ;)

I could never get used to a handheld, I used to have one years ago, but I can't get into the habit of carrying/using it. I guess if my phone was also a palmtop, I would be able to use it. Without that integral piece, my most mobile machine is my laptop, but that is not all that mobile, in comparison :-).

I know what you mean... I keep waiting for a Brew application to be available for workout logs on my phone :D

Sorry just saw that... great, I love it, I have been using it for over a year. It does pretty well parsing MS docs, but that could be improved some. I know version 2 that is coming out soon will do a better job of parsing MS docs. I can also save as .doc so I can send it to people at work. Or export directly to PDF, no silly printer drivers. There are a number of things I like about OOo. I won't bore you with the details, that would definately be too much information :-).
