Hey guys, I am wondering what you guys think about the importance of stretching concerning your vertical. I know there are programs such as Air Alert and others alike that focus on different forms of jumping and working your legs, but are they as effective as just stretching? I know squats and calf raises play a huge part in increasing ones vertical, but not sure if stretching is worth the time.

I have a feeling that it is huge if you want gains in your vert, so my next question is when do you do it? I have heard people doing it when they get out of the shower in the morning, or right after their cardio session. What do you guys think? Thanks

I don't know how critical it is, but stretch a rubber band way out and let it contract: it contracts with more force than if it isn't stretched as far. I believe it's the same with your muscles. But, keep in mind you don't have the exteme differences in how far you can stretch a muscle as you do a rubber band.
