We saw the commercial for it a few weeks ago. It looked so corny... but as cheeseball as it seems to me for Stallone to be cashing in on his Rocky fame 15+ years after the last movie, it does kinda look interesting. If it's on the tele when I'm nearby, I may switch it on.

We talked about it over here... http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=12172

I think it looks awesome, but I'm a HUGE boxing fan. That being said, I thought the "next great champion" was crap, even though they had a lot of big boxing names associated with it. The contender is done by Mark Burnett, so I have high hopes for it. It looks like it follows boxers real lives, which will be way more interesting than 10 guys living in a house. I can't wait!

I get excited whenever I see the promos, but I am also a boxing fanatic right now. LOL I just hope that these boxers are at least semi-intelligent people when they open their mouths. That is my biggest fear -that the boxers that they showcase can fight, but can't speak or say anything intelligent to save their lives.... would only hurt the publics view of boxers even more. I tend to agree that it will be good also, as Mark Burnett is producing it. I have liked all of his other reality t.v. shows. :tu:

I'm a little dissappointed that Oscar got his hand in this - I thought he had a little more integrity than this considering all the interviews he did about trying to get boxing back to how it was post-Marquis of Queensbury.

I really want to see that Leija/Gatti fight. Leija may be closing in on 40...but I can't help but see shades of Duran in him.

I watched that Ultimate Fighter show, and just reeled back laughter at how unskilled an inexperienced these guys were. There were many of the grapplers at my gym (even some BJJ students) who would have them tapping in seconds.

You must be talking about the one that was on FOX last fall, Ken. I didn't see it, but heard it wasn't all that great. This new one with Sugar Ray and Stallone should be good.... but I think it will be good more for the fact that Mark Burnett is producing it.

haven't watched any of the ultimate fighting stuff... Not really my cup of tea. I have seen some ultimate fighting stuff in the past - on t.v. - well mainly old Bas Rutten fights... nothing like a good old choke hold/submission....
