I think the key word to look for in the ingredients is "enriched". This means things were added to it. I prefer 100% whole wheat over enriched any day, you want your food to come from natural sources if at all possible.

Don't get the blend, get the 100% Whole wheat pasta. I don't even notice the difference, personally. :)

could you guys list some whole wheat pastas for me that are available at regular supermarkets others than the atkins brands. they are overpriced beacause of the marketing. maybe i have not looked hard enough, still eating semolina which isnt terrible but whole wheat is better.

I can't remember the brand I get, but I'll check it when I get home later and report back. I usually pay $1.79-$1.99 for a good size package. Throw some butter buds on it and it comes out great.

If you can find it,try WHOLEGRAIN KAMUT PASTA, Double the mineral then whole wheat and easy to digest- high protein content as well Compared to common wheat, it is higher in eight out of nine minerals; contains up to 65% more amino acids; and boasts more lipids and fatty acids. The most striking superiority of Kamut brand wheat is found in its protein level—up to 40% higher than the national average for wheat. Because of its higher percentage of lipids, which produce more energy than carbohydrates, Kamut can be described as a "high energy grain."

looking forward to hearing from you later Jason. no butter buds for me though. i like making my own sauce with lots of olive oil, onion, tomato, garlic, and spice.

The brand I use is Racconto (http://www.racconto.com/)

The ingredietns are 100% Whole Wheat and water.
I used to get Hodgson's Mill, but it never came out tender enough for my taste
