hi girls ( and boys)
guys are always talking about 10% of bodyfat, How about women ? I dont think its healthy for women to have 10% of bodyfat.... is it ?? I have heard that women shouldnt have less than 14% of bodyfat. is that correct ??

From what I've read 12% is about as low as a women should get.

Women dip into the single digits before body building contests but then go back up into doubles... the advantage for women is that we can have a six pack at a higher body fat. :)

Not to sure about what they think healthy is. *I* think it depends on how you feel and what you look like.
I am currently somewhere between 9 and 10% bf. Just before christmas I was at 8.50%, jumped up to 10.5 enjoying the holidays and am on my way back down.
Even though my bf fell below 12% I never lost my cycle and even though it went lower, i still never lost it. I feel great.
It really just depends on how you want to look. Personally I like the lean muscle look on me :D

I think it depends on the person and their individual chemistry and what their own body can handle or function at different fat levels. Test the theory. Get down to the "borderline" and see how you feel. The lowest I have ever gotten is 12.8% and I felt pretty great.
