hmm, I weighed myself today for the first time in 16 days, in the morning. I weigh 163 pounds, down from 173. I always weighed myself at night since that first day, clothed, and thought my weight was 8 pounds heavier than this(!?)

I've been following a pretty nutritious diet, eating 6+ meals a day, protein shakes, creatine, but I haven't been counting calories, only roughly estimating about 1600-2000 a day.

Training I've been doing morning cardio 5 days a week, weights workout 3 nights a week.

I realise most people would say this is too much weight too quickly, but I honestly dont seem to have lost much muscle mass. In fact my max weight on almost every exercise has increased over the 2 weeks, and is now the highest I've ever been at. Is that a good indicator that I haven't lost muscle mass, or should I be worried? My abdomen/waist has also gone from 35 to 33 inches.

Just wondered whether people think I need to increase my calories more, to try to fit the ideal 1/2 pounds a week. To me this seems to be working well, but I need a more objective (and informed) view.

Thanks

Change two things:

Weigh first thing in the morning, fasted-after using the bathroom.

Unclothed.

At the end of the day your weight can vary widely based on your intake and clothed? Unless you wear the exact same thing? Even then- why count your clothing?

OK- three things: I don't know your stats, or what your daily caloric intake should be, but you say you are only "roughly estimating" 1600-2000 calories a week. The way most people estimate, you might be widely varying from 1000-2500 a day.

But you know- if you feel you're otherwise doing OK- then maybe you don't need to change anything. Did you just start working out? Initial gains can sometimes be huge.

Water weight can fluctuate like crazy. When I used to wrestle I would drop 10 pounds or so in 2 weeks of practice - alot of which was because of sweating out all the garbage. Of course it depends on when you weigh yourself in relation to when you drink your fluids.

From the sound of what you are doing though, alot of it is fat!
