Jim Sun, January 23rd, 2005, 11:36 AM That 20kg wasn't fat, or it was very small % of fat lost.
Water and muscle. Silly diet, that's all I have to say about it really, I'm being ignorant about it, heh.
Cziffra Sun, January 23rd, 2005, 11:45 AM Eating that I wouldn't make it til noon without feeling ravenous and dizzy.
Out of curiosity, what happened to your friends when they finished their "diet"?
Or... Are they still on it?
reanimated838uk Sun, January 23rd, 2005, 11:46 AM Agreed.
I would say thats 500cals - 750 a day. :d_eek:
SwoleCat Sun, January 23rd, 2005, 12:30 PM OUTRIGHT HORRID. http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/images/icons/icon13.gif
This is not a flame post, but anyone w/any amount of common sense (not even common sense in the world of nutrition) just common sense period, would realize this is assinine.
I bet they lost all their muscle, then PERHAPS SOME fat.
Definitely NOT a healthy protocol whatsoever and anyone reading this stay FAR FAR away.
Once normal eating resumes, KABOOM!!!!!! Nemo here they come!
I know of where I speak, as when I was VERY SICK with ANOREXIA, I ate more than that, and lost all of my lean muscle mass.
Welcome to the world of skinny-fat, with being able to look forward to a huge rebound affect that will leave one in a worse state than one was initially.
Truly whack!

Chadster Sun, January 23rd, 2005, 05:10 PM Men or women? I did it for a few months last year and weight fell off FAST but it was WRONG. I felt extremely aggressive and had dull headaches from low sugar levels. And I urinated about once an hour if I could hold it that long, had to make sure there were bathrooms everywhere I went. I highly recommend against that diet plan.

Men..
Just from curiosity how much weight you lost during the few months that you was doing that diet?
Have you noticed any changes when you finished? strech marks or something?

Tanis6909 Mon, January 24th, 2005, 10:27 AM Truly whack indeed! There's NO FOOD in that diet!! Frickin TEA for breakfast??? Hell, I'm a 165lb guy and I eat more food in two meals than those folks ate all day! SC is right on here (as usual) with his "skinny-fat" statement. I did a diet that was similar to this before I knew what I was doing, and I lost so much lean mass that all I had left over when I was done was a tiny, flabby man with the same belly fat I set out to loose in the first place. If you want to lose weight (fat in particular) you have to feed your body!

SwoleCat Mon, January 24th, 2005, 12:48 PM It sucks that you had to experience this, but at least you now KNOW that this is far from an ideal approach to fitness that one would want to utilize.

Tanis6909 Mon, January 24th, 2005, 03:10 PM oh, I sure do...and I've made it my mission to STOP as many people as I can from doing it... :p
I think I've typed in the same message to at least 2 dozen posts of folks with the question "So.....if I eat...like a carrot and a piece of chicken...then run 17 miles as fast as I can everyday, that will work....right?" Ok, so maybe they're not that extreme, but thats the basic gist of em. As counterproductive as eating MORE to lose weight sounds, I'm living proof that eating more WORKS...eating nothing does not.
kdhwtbtwbd Mon, January 24th, 2005, 06:04 PM Wouldn't you feel terribly terribly sick on that specific diet? I can imagine I would feel very dizzy/faint, unable to focus etc. Why would you want to do that to yourself for sub-par results?
Chadster Mon, January 24th, 2005, 06:56 PM In my case I lost about 40 in 4 mos., from about 270 to 230. (I was 5' 11", 300 lbs at my fattest). I chose to crash diet due to dangerously high blood pressure and my doctor's pleading with me to lose weight. At the time I was 25yo and my BP was 170/90. I was covered in stretch marks from being so fat. The weightloss didn't change them much if any, and I still have them. During the diet I was weak and my immune system suffered. My blood pressure went down, but I was left with loose skin and flabby fat covering my frame. Now I'm doing things the right way and feel much better. My loose skin is tightening up and the flabby blubber is slowly disappearing. I highly recommend fasted cardio, lifting heavy and clean eating, not the path I took.
Men..

fluke Thu, February 3rd, 2005, 07:33 PM You guys got a good fatloss diet to suggest with some workout?Read John's food logs from before he started bulking. That is how I learned how to eat. Be careful though, even John feels he ate too little at the begining.
