Hi,

OK, so I thought I try keeping about a weekly journal here, hopefully both getting some good advice and keeping me motivated.

I guess a good place to start, is my goals. At the moment I'm about 240 punds (107-108 kg) with a 2m (~ 6"7') body to go along. I've used two "sources" to measure my BF, giving me 21.54% and 21.98%, so I'm convinced that it's pretty accurate. My first goal is to get this down to 15%, as well as my BMI down below 25. (I know that BMI is somewhat disputed, but I'll go with it at the moment. I also got some goals for weightlifting, like benching 100kg, but I guess I have to hold on working on those until I'm "done" cutting.

I had my heart set on starting a nice diet along with the new year, and so far It's been going, well, not that good. I been quite good going to the gym, but I've pretty much eaten what I've felt like.

At the moment, I'm going to the gym twice a week and to the dojo (I train shotokan karate) twice a week. The dojo-workout is obviously  not under my control, so I guess I'll just have to keep showing up there. And besides, I don't go there to cut :)

The other workouts however, obviously have to change. At the moment they are usually about 15 minutes of running to start with, and then about a hour of weight-machines, trying as good as I can alternating between upper and lower body.

I'm thinking about getting in on some organized basketball, giving me a solid cardio-workout once a week. If I can manage to get in another "clean" cardio at about 45 minutes and a "clean" weight-training workout, I guess this would be better?

This would give me about this workout schedule:
Mondays: Basketball, 1 hour
Tuesdays: Weight-training, 1 hour
Wednesday: Karate, 1.5 hours, Running 45 minutes
Thursday: Karate, 1.5 hours
Fridays: Karate, 1.5 hours
Saturdays: Running 45 minutes
Saturdays: Resting

Does this make sense, or is it complete madness? The karate workouts are quite difficult to avoid, if I want to get the next belt  On the other hand, as I said, they can be pretty "easy" when regarding them as "cardio", and they're obviously not weight-training, so...

My eating-habits however, are my big problem :eat:. Counting calories is something I want to avoid for two reasons. First, I find it quite difficult, second, it think at the moment it would simply be discouraging.

Basically, I have problems creating a daily diet I can "live with". It about creating habits that are permanent, so I rather eat a little more than I need to, and be happy, than eating somewhat better and be miserable.

I guess I'll take any advice available when it comes to food. I try to use the site mybodycomp.com for measurements (including BF). They claim I use 3660 calories daily. I don't know how accurate this figure is, but I guess it's a start.
