I had looked for at least a year to find a bread that fit into my diet that tasted good. We all know wonder is crap. Nearly every single one of the whole wheat, rye, pumpernickel etc. breads out there have added sugar or even trans-fats. I started eating sprouted grain bread because it was good for me. I no longer have to kid myself that I enjoy the taste and texture. I found a company called Vermont Bread Company. I had never seen them at my local supermarket before but it could have been there the whole time. No added sugar or partially hydrogenated anything. Nothing but goodness in here.
INGREDIENTS: Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour, Water, Unbleached Wheat Flour, Green Mountain Grain Bread Mix (Whole Wheat Flour, Unbleached Wheat Flour, Rye Meal, Rye Flour, Sunflower Seeds, Sesame Seeds, Oatmeal, Cornmeal, Sea Salt, Barley Flakes, Millet, Malt), Barley Malt, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Canola Oil, Vital Wheat Gluten, Soy Flour, Yeast, Cultured Wheat Starch, Honey, Salt, Alfalfa Sprouts, Soy Lecithin, Malted Barley Flour.
I noticed the Green Mountain Grain Bread Mix in there. I am going to look that up and make it on my own with a bread maker if thats possible. The smell of baking bread throughout the house is just awesome.
