So, I love two shows -- Amazing Race and Survivor.

This year on Amazing Race they have this wrestler named Bolo that, at the start, was as cut as heck. Great physique and very defined -- must have taken him years to get like that.

Anyway, every week you watch you can see him shrink. He's running around everywhere so I'm sure he's getting enough cardio -- I think he's a good example of a lot of things we've talked about here.

Any thoughts on what's going on with Bolo? Anyone else watch it?

I've noticed that to some extent as well. He's definitely not fit because any of the challenges that require cardio kill him and his female-wrestler girlfriend/wife/whatever.

One thing I did think was funny on that program was when they had to drink goblets of blood. My girlfriend and I were watching and she says "there is no way they wil do that" and I was like "oh yeah they will, they are obviously bodybuilders as well as wrestlers and I'm SURE they are used to slamming all sorts of weird protein drinks and crap just for the sake of their muscles." Needless to say, they both walked up to the goblets of blood and downed them all in like 2 seconds.

Bodybuilding is good training for reality television because you will inevitably have to drink something nasty and thick.

I enjoy the Amazing Race as well. But i think Bolo looks better now than at the start of the season, but that is just my opinion.
But he definitly has ZERO cardio endurance.

SO FUNNY!

My wife and I had the EXACT same conversation. Almost word for word.

How funny. I think they are comical to watch. Too bad he doesn't seem too intelligent when he talks. I just shake my head anytime Bolo opens his mouth.... and Victoria and John... have you ever seen two people treat each other so badly- verbally- AND IN PUBLIC nonetheless... sure is good t.v.

Since this thread is about TV shows and Stecman mentioned Survivor I guess this fits in here. I'm not sure which "Survivor" you were referring to Stecman but has anyone seen "The Survivor" on the OLN channnel? Every week this guy is dropped in the middle of nowhere (Arctic ice, Georgian swamp, top of a Rocky Mountain) with no water, no food, no matches, no tent, no sleeping bag, no film crew (he films himself) and has to survive for 7 days, and usually has to get somewhere else.

In one episode he was in the middle of the Arctic with only a dog sled, no dogs. He had to trudge across the ice, cold as Hell, for lots of miles to somewhere, scared to death of coming across a polar bear. He found the puny remains of a bear killed seal and that was his food. He estimated he was expending 6000 calories a day and eating 200 or 300!!. After 6 days he had expended 36,000 and ate 1100. The show doesn't give before and after body weight or composition, I wish it did, but he does go into detail about his energy levels, his mental state and lack of mental power (inability to make decisions for example). One of his most important survival skills is how to manage his energy and mind with no food. It's very interesting, especially when I am feeling sorry for myself living through a 500 calorie daily deficit.
