hobowitharolex Tue, January 18th, 2005, 07:22 PM im finding myself hoplessly addicted
all i spend my money on is protien poweder and other supps, and save up for more fitness equipment
i spend a little on going to the movies and hanging out with friends and girls and stuff, but 99% is fitness related
during school i cant concentrate, all i think about is revising my diet and new routines
when i try to do my homework on the computer i find myself browsing jsf or bb.com instead
its really all i think about
anyone else have this problem?

My thoughts exactly. I love to work out. When I first started down this fitness road I was just like hobo, reading all that I could, buying various supplements and stimulants. After a while I figured out what worked for me and didnt read or experiment as much. Nowadays I still read a lot of fitness-related stuff, but I am basically fine tuning my current program. I think once you figure out what works for you overall you you wont spend as much time and money trying new programs and supplements, etc.
Oh, and I am definitely addicted to exercise. Like ocram said its like a drug with no negative side effects...except maybe the occasional injury.
Vincent Wed, January 19th, 2005, 09:42 AM LOL! I am the same. I started recently and am passed 40 but it's all I think about at the moment. I have just bought an elliptical. Next thing is more weights. :d_biggrin
Count yourself lucky though. If you were into recording music, it would cost you a LOT more. That's what I do, and I find fitness equipment is very, very good value for what it brings compared to my studio stuff.
The solution to feed my studio equipment addiction was to make money out of it. I suppose you can do the same for fitness. If you enjoy it that much, become a coach, set up a gym or something.
Vincent.
Acliff Wed, January 19th, 2005, 10:05 AM I am in uni at the moment and experiencing what hobo is experiencing. Working out is all important, even though I've got exams in a week. In that sense, the exercise is not so good for me, I can't afford to go to a gym if I don't have a job.
I love morning cardio, I love lifting, I love taekwondo. At the moment, university degrees are a distant second. My mother will be pleased to hear that :D
Although of course I know that in the long run, university education is not as important as my continued health, but having them running concurrently shouldn't be so difficult...
sox311 Fri, January 21st, 2005, 07:58 PM Just wait until you go crazy when something makes you have to lay off for a while!
Last Monday I had to have a mole removed from my shoulder, not just shaved off the whole thing, it was A-typical. I haven't been able to lift since then. I even had to miss a hoops game, I should have missed two, but I decided I could play against my doctor's order. So all I have been doing is Cardio for the last two weeks almost. I have been getting cabin feaver and stir crazy if I have to sit at home with nothing to do.
I just go the stiches out this afternoon and I can start lifting again Monday. Thank God!
