Well let me begin by saying John you are amazing! Words cannot do justice to how amazing you are. God Bless.
About me:
I've perused this site for a while as a guest. I joined and haven't posted much. My goal has always been to slim down. As I may have mentioned before I'm 24, 5'8 and appx 230lbs. I have had numerous attempts to slim down but I've let so many things become hinderances to achieving my goal. It was very disappointing, demoralzing and pathetic. Fortunately since most of my friends were "husky" I fit in well and it wasn't a big problem. One day i saw a picture of me and my girlfriend. She is absolutely gorgeous. She's Peruvian - she has the cutest nose, a bright smile and sexy eyes. She reminds of Salma Hayek. Anyhow, we were at a wedding for one of her friends and we took a picture. I thought I, we looked great. A few weeks later I saw the picture and was horrified. Yes she looked great but I had the most blatant double chin. My face expanded from my forehead to my jaw, outward. it was embarrasing. In addition, I noticed that I could no longer fit into a 38 waist pair of slacks. IN fact I was @ 40 quickly approaching 42. i wallowed in self pitty and didn't do much about it for a long time.
Then things changed. My gf began motivating me to go back and finish college. I got a job with people who were ambitious and motivated. They believed in hardwork and as a result I began to inculcate their ideology into my life. I realized that nothing happens overnight but with hardwork, great things will be achieved. I used that as motivation to get back into the gym but I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. After a week of working out, I flamed.
i had this website book marked and i hadn't visited it for quite sometime. I knew from my previous visits that many of you and John had made great strides. I found strength in the pictures but I knew that it easily and quickly wore off. I thought it was useless for me to go to the gym only to flame within a week.
I continued to view the webiste and suddenly it seemed like it all came together. What my coworkers had instilled in me, the confidence my GF gave me in addition to the love and support. But the key was what John said about having a good attitude and preparing your mind for a permanent change in how you're living. On December 14th I began working out lightly. I felt good after two weeks and I decided that on January 3rd I'd make a goal to loose 10lbs in one month. At the time I weighed 230lbs. I haven't and do not plan to weigh myself until February 3rd. I don't know if that is good or bad but that is my plan. I feel good that I'll achieve this goal. I've been going to the gym 5-6 days a week, performing 35 minutes of cardio mixed in with a 1 hour workout. I'm feeling good and last week I recieved two seperate compliments on how it looks like I've lost weight. I've never had that happen before! I must admit this last weekend I misbehaved and that was depressing but you guys picked me up and I feel great! I just finished my workout and I truly feel good! I've been eating clean, (except this last weekend) and have noticed that some of my pants are getting looser. I'll definitely keep you updated on how things are going. My next update won't be until the end of January but in the meantime I'll share any significant thoughts with you.
Thank you John for being an true inspiration and providing this site. I hope you have continued sucess along with everyone else.
Until next time...
