Every now and then when I begin any kind of set my head itches for no reason. My forehead and face down to the jaw become incredibly itchy. I feel like it comes a little before I might start to sweat. It goes away after a few minutes but it's really an annoying discomfort, I thought I throw it out here to see if anyone knows what exactly it is.

Don't know for sure but maybe it has something to do with straining and your face shaking. Ever been in a loud club where the bass is really strong? And your nose itches?
I don't know. :)

this is from the blood filling the capillaries. basically, your blood is moving faster adn stronger through them, causing an itching sensation
my legs itch like a bastard when I first start running after a little break. does it feel like if you shaved your head it would go away?

I used to have this problem when I worked out a few years ago. For me it was the soap I was using, when I changed the soap I used to wash my face the itching went away.
I'm not sure if this is the same thing for you but the symptoms sound familiar.

Yes, that sounds about right. I guess there's no way to prevent it then though. It's just a bit of a discomfort, that's all. Thanks for telling me what exactly causes it.
