So today was chest/tricep/ab day, and in that specific order. I make gains every week, whether its an extra rep or more weight, so this has worked for me.
Today i decided to do chest first then abs and triceps at the end, i figured i'd let my arms rest a bit for my tricep workout.

Well i did my tricep warmup set and noticed it felt a bit heavy, i did another one just for the hell of it and failed at end :d_mad:
I did one more and failed again, i didnt even bother doing a heavy set.

What went wrong here? Was it that long "rest" between the chest and tricep workout?
Ill go back to my old routine next week and hope it was just that.

Your chest workout could have been better than usual. You could have not psychologically been "in" the tricep set. I think that it is least likely that doing the ab sets between the chest and tricep sets was the cause.

I feel that ab-workout literally drains the body and mind of energy, even if your arms rest your body and mind is to weak to perform. That's a reason of why I allways do the abs as the last exercise.

Have to agree that it was probably the ab in between that did it. Other factors could come into play as well, such as not sleeping well the night before, stress, etc. On a side note, have you tried changing up your routine a bit? I was at a plateau doing the standard back/bi's, chest/tri's routine. I switched around to chest/bi's, shoulders/tri's, back routine and have made great gains. Sometimes you have to change things up a bit. Also, I moved ab's to cardio or off days. I felt I couldn't put forth the proper effort after I was beat from lifting.

Ya my ab workout was pretty intense, i was feeling the burn for a long time.
I was a bit stressed, my car broke down and had to get it towed home, no biggie its all fixed now.
We'll see what happens next week, ill post an update then.

Just finished my chest/tricep/ab workout and it was great, especially my tricep one :D
I moved up in weight and finished 2 full sets, only failed on my 3rd set midway through.
So it must of been that ab workout last week that drained me, i guess if it aint broke dont fix it.
