I've mostly been lurking around here for a while, want to get back into lifting.

Was wondering what everyone thought about partial rep exercises.

The last time I lifted, a while ago, my squat routine looked like this:

3 Stepouts with all the weight I could support,
6-8 Half Squats
20 Full Squats

and my dl routine was:

3 pulls from one notch below full extensions
3 pulls from just below my knee
and 6 pulls from the floor.

Comments ? Suggestions ? Any other exercises I can do in this manner ?

Was I wasting my time ? I seemed to have steady progress, but am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

Kurt

The only thing I like is lockouts on bench. They do a great job at overloading my muscles, and then the next time I do a regular bench, the weights don't seem as heavy...

Might be mainly mental, but it works for me!

I use lockouts and partial reps to hit the weak points of my reps.

Bench lockouts are get for hitting the upper part of the rep if that is where you tend to lose your momentum (bad use of the word here) during your rep. Most people have trouble with the top part of the rep for chest due tot he triceps taking more of the load. Lockouts are awesome.
