I don't talk splits, not sure what latest fad is. I wouldn't do it the way you choose. You sure will work your triceps in that first day and you really work biceps second day.

On the choice of exercises, I don't know what a pile db squat is. Are why you chose a machine bench press for shoulders. I am going to assume the flys on thurs are really lateral raises.

I couldn't stand up to 96 chest reps, If I used weights of any real size and follow them with 72 reps for triceps, done in 21 sets. How long does it take you? I think you are overworking yourself. Same for every day.

I bold all compound exercises.

Dagoon, it looks like it ers on the side of too much volume to me.

guidlines:

Small muscle groups: 6-8 sets
Large Muscle grops: 9-12 sets

three exercises per muscle group should be plenty..

I think your routine is quite good if your not using heavy weights to build up.
It should work well with lighter weights to kep you toned.
I've been using a similar routine for the last month and it is a bit much as im working with heavy weights and the second muscle group tends to be too tired to give 100%.

I think most of us don't want to compete. But even me at my age wants to bodybuild or build muscles.

Max-OT is a popular program. You can download the 65 page manual from John's area of site. Body for Life is a good program, the book by Bill Phillips. Men's health has many book workouts available.

I think Ellington Darden (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index%3Dstripbooks%26field-keywords%3Dellington%20darden%26results-process%3Ddefault%26dispatch%3Dsearch/ref%3Dpd%5Fsl%5Faw%5Ftops-1%5Fstripbooks%5F4242713%5F2/104-1206378-7298333)'s HIT program is great for anyone, quick and effective. I believe in it for its logic. He has many books to choose from.

I am one that believes in picking a program to follow that is complete spelled out in detail in written form. There is nothing like a good book to use as reference. A number of program even covers diet, so they are a one stop package

Darden is for full body. I don't think they are as good but splits won't hurt you. All those I mentioned should be look at. Stop at a good book store and you will see most. Or go to Amazon.com and browse.

Cutting or bulking, 5' 4" or 6' 2", male or female, they all can use the programs. The diet is what decides where your body goes.

Btw: Cut off caps, people think you are shouting and don't care for it.
