First off the morning kisses. These really hurt my neck. Are they needed? Secondly, standing wieghted leg raiseand calf raise. What are these? 3rd, why does John warm up like 7 sets on bench?

-I don't know what morning kisses are.

-Weighted leg raise, I assume this is the ab movement. Lay down on a bench, put a dumbbell in between your feet, keep legs stretched out and raise them.

-Calf Raises are done (usually) on a leg press machine, a donkey raise machine, or a seated or standing machine. You press your legs/body up on your toes.

-Visit bodybuilding.com for examples and pictures to help you with all exercises.

-I don't know how many warmup sets John does, but warmup is important to his program as he lifts pretty heavy and with high intensity. Warm up well, then acclimate, then hit only a couple of really intense, heavy sets.

I think you are talking about "good mornings" for the lower back with a barbell across your shoulders like a squat. I agree, if you use any type of weight, it can be uncomfortable, especially without a pad. I prefer using a piece of equipment that you can use holding a plate against your chest while bending at the waist. I suppose you could do it standing while holding a 45 pounder.
