View Full Version : Starting Bulk cycle with MAX-OT Question

I am completing my 7th week since my last week off.

This will conclude my mid-winter mini-cut. Next week I am increasing to maintenance calories and moving into a calorie surplus the following week. I will be bulking with Max-OT through April.

My question:

When should I take my next week off?

Options I see:

- next week and start the Max-OT cycle the following week
- Start Max-OT next week and take a week off in mid-Feb ( weeks into Max-OT or 11-12 weeks since I last took a week off)
- SOMETHING ELSE???

Take a week off when you feel you need it or when your gains plateau.

Definitely up to you, but I would say 12 weeks is the max I would go. You should at least consider taking 10-14 days 'off' after that. Perhaps 5-7 days completely off and another 5-7 days when you do very low volume, maybe 2-4 working sets.

You might find a full week off every 6-8 weeks more advantagous.
