My skin for the last month has been breaking out with blackheads and pimples on my jawline and chin. Nothing that i am eating is different from the last year other than my meal plans cycle carbs and fats.

I DO NOT use any kind of drugs or steriods. I do take Synthoid and cytomel for my thyoid issues ( I have Hashimoto's autoimmune) and have been using both of these for over a year as well., I also take Carnitor (l carnitine ) prescribed by my endocrinolgist to help with some of the muscle weakness i was experiencing as well as my lab levels indicated i was defiecient as well. Twin labs daily one WITHOUT iron, Total EFA's 1(only manage to remember to take one of the 3 recommended, Dry Vit E, vit C and have been using this supplement regime for over a year.

My body fat is currently down at 8.54% and has been under 9 for atleast a few months as well. I have NEVER lost my cycle and do not take any form of hormones to control pregnancy. I feel great! My diet is regulated by my nutritional trainer. I am curently eating for cutting to get rid of the rest of my midsection pudge and will then learn how to bring my bf up to my goal of 10% and learn to maintain there.

So i guess i am wanting to know if any knows if there would be any hormonal changes associated with low bf? I am really sick of the breakouts :(

My complexion is pretty clear, but the only times I broke out bad, was 1) when I was eating too much junk - which you aren't, it sounds like. and (2) over a year ago, we had some really bad financial problems and it stressed me out really bad, my face was in bad, bad shape... Once the stress calmed down and things were back to normal, my face cleared up. Do you have anything really stressful going on right now in your life?

It could be from the sweat from workouts also ( this one is a stab in the dark)

nope to the junk, other than christmas "planned treat" and fortunately no stress.. Dont think it is sweaty workouts. Te breakouts are like non stop pms type ughh.

I am wondering if maybe my female hormones are shifting like to the "M" word (menopause

What kind of EFAs? I read that flax oil has effects on testosterone levels, and a patient of mine who took flax oil actually had changes in her period that stopped when she went off of it (she wasn't taking that much, but it was directly related to when she started and stopped flax!). Fish oil doesn't seem to cause this problem.

I have dealt with mild adult acne since I was 19. I never could figure it-just thought I was one of those people who are prone to it. Last spring it got TERRIBLE (and I can be rather vain). I tried all sorts of things to clear it up. Turns out it is my anti-seizure RX. Something about the way the body metabilizes it clogs pores and causes acne. I switched RX last spring and the new one has fewer side effects-just the one it does have impacts my vanity :D

I started using a 3 step program that has cleared my skin almost completely. My complexion looks better than it has in years-and it's OTC. You might talk to your Dr. to see if any of your presciptions could be to blame.
