I've been on a plan for a month now similar to John's and have lost about 11 pounds.

So 11 pounds weight loss is impressive (to me, at least) but I did the math and the true results are nothing short of amazing (to a newbie like me)

Taking the relative fat loss from my scale, I've gone from 105.5 kg at 34% to 100.5 kg at 29.4 percent. That's 35.87 kg (78.9 pounds, ugh) of fat in my body to about 29.547 kg (65 pounds) of fat. So, I've lost almost 14 pounds of fat! Almost a half pound a day! And all this on a 2100 calorie diet!

And the difference, those extra 3 pounds, may very well be new muscle in my body! I've never had any measurable muscle before, so to see evidence of new muscle in my body is also very exciting. I can't wait to see what the next month will bring.

Good luck, everybody! :tu:

Well good job so far. Although half a pound a day probably isn't too healthy, but I guess more common if you're just starting out.

I noticed you're doing the JET program. I have an interview this Wednesday in Atlanta for the program beginning this July.

Japan is a great place to lose weight. I was in Kyoto for 2 months and Fukuoka for 1 month last summer and lost 25 pounds in those three months. And the food is amazing!

Good luck, keep it up!

Japan was not health-friendly to me, I was eating wayyyy too much yaki-soba, kara-age, tempura, washing it down with beer, etc etc etc.

Now I eat tofu and drink green tea. Yay. Good luck with JET!
