Today I was doing my usual bicep curls (EZ bar) with the same weight as last week. First set went down a treat... Rest 90secs & onto the second set. During my 3rd or 4th repitition I went down slowly then contracted with force and BANG.... My whole left side of my chest felt a jolt of pain go through it. The pain is centred near the left side of my lower ribs, just below my heart. It hurts to move side to side, even sitting here typing is causing me some distress. What have I done? Have I pulled a muscle? Has this happened to anybody else?
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Let us know how it feels later today and tomorrow. You could have just pulled a muscle or just strained something. Could be very minor, but you should know more after you see how you feel today and tomorrow.
I have had things like this happen where a muscle or area of the body which seemed unrelated to the exercise I am doing gets strained. For me anyway it was okay after a day or so. For example, I was once working my chest and felt an awkward sharp pain near my ribs, but later in the day I was fine.
If it's really bad go to a doctor of course, but if it's not too bad see how you feel later.
I hope it's nothing serious!

Thanks for the response.
Well it is tomorrow and the pain is a little worse then yesterday... More through stiffness and not being able to bend and move sideways without any discomfort. Im thinking it must be a torn/strained muscle... DAMN. However, it hurts quite a bit and have never torn anything before so this pain is a new feeling(Only injuries ever sustained have been dislocations of the shoulder). I'll give it a few days to settle down and if pain persists... I'll see a doctor.
