Yeah hikings great, it gets you outside and breathing fresh air, and your having fun, it doesnt feel like work.

The last time I went hiking, I did a 3 day 80km hike around and up Mt Koziosko (australia bisggest mountain but not that big) with a 60kg pack and it absolutley killed me. I had massive blisters on the soles of my feet and I had to go to hospital to get them properly treated they were so bad. :p

I love climbing all over the White Mtns. in NH. This time of year is incredible - the wintery conditions are as bad as anywhere. Really tests your skills. ;)

In '98 I hiked the Appalachian Trail (Georgia-Maine 2000+ miles). Talk about a neat way to drop the pounds with out even trying. In 2000, I hiked the John Muir Trail from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney. 220 miles in 13 days. Awesome scenery! Now, each summer I take a week off each month and hit the Sierra to hike, fish, and take everything in. I always drop about 10 lbs/week but put it back on once hitting the trailhead. You know, the after hike beer & pizza. :D

dude, that's incredible!! :claplow: :claphigh:
I have such respect for thru hikers. I've practically hiked the entire trail thru NH and Vt, I would love to section hike it one day, but for now I'm going for the NH 4,000 club - 48 peaks.

Do you have a webpage of photos from your thru hike?
