If you've got a cold, should you stay home from the gym?

I usually go to the gym no matter what, but was wondering if going to the gym with a cold was a bad idea. I do my best to wipe down my equipment, and if i have to cough, sneeze, or blow my nose, i'll go into the bathroom to do that stuff, so that i am not spreading my germs. But aside from that, is there any harm i could be doing to myself, or to my muscle development by working out with a cold?

I would think that the high level of cortisol during illness and the relative glucose insensitive state the body is in is not at all conducive(sp) for muscle growth. Why train when you are sick when you can expect nothing out of it? Rest up and go back when you recover. :tu:
