Hey I have a question thats been bugging me a lot ever since I lost a lot of weight. When I look at John's pics, even before his bulk, you can't see any ribs on him. However I'm 165 lb @ 12% bf and you can see the corners of the ribs in front of my body, and its annoying. Even when I flex my abs you can still see them. Do I just need to bulk until they are gone, meaning I'll have a 36 in waist? How come they aren't visible in other skinny ppl but they are with me.
Thanks

What kind of ab work do you do? You might want to do some medicine ball wood choppers (or w/ weights or cables), and some Russian Twists w/ medicine ball or weight. This will help develop the oblique muscles besides the standard 6-pack.
This will help cover your abs up some, although they normally still show thorugh a little.

Nothing wrong with ribs, I assume you are talking about an expanded rib-cage. Most people would like that instead of the flat chest of a TB patient.
But I wouldn't expand waistline to try to hide them. You might need more lats. Is there a picture anywhere?

Yah, ribs aren't bad at all. As you pack on more muscle, I would say they are definitely a plus.
Don't worry about it. As you get bigger, you'll look better and better.

You can't see it too well on the avatar, but I show quite a bit of rib at 10% BF, especially if I twist or bend, but even straight up, unflexed.
I don't think my wife likes it mind you.
Edit - while I don't have a lot of muscle, my lats arn't too bad, but they don't really hide the ribs.
