Hello all,
Man am I sick!!! Been out of commission since new year's day. My last workout was thursday the 30th. I am miserable, aches, chills, fever, etc. I have been trying to eat, but my appetite is way down. I have been drinking lots of water and orange juice, but food intake is low. Did anyone else get the flu this holiday season? I am not planning to work out until I feel better, I am not sure I could lift a 15lb dumbbell today, but it is worrying me sick by not working out, does anyone have any tips for me to recover as soon as possible? I thought about drinking some protein shakes to help with meals, any thoughts or tips would be appreciated. :d_frown:

I have the same problem, identical.

I last worked out on the 31st, I went for a 2 hour road biking trip on lake michigan in chicago. I got really ill since the next day and have a terrible sore throat as we speak.

I have made sure to eat what i normally eat, lowering my caloric intake a little bit. thankfully, my appetite is always there. make sure to eat protein, rest plenty, and consider it a luxury to not work out, and when youre well again, pump up the calories, and start working hard! good luck.

I got something like flu- chills, sinus pain, headache, etcetc. Everyone round here seems to have had it over xmas, fortunately it hasnt got me as hard as some of my friends had it.

Just been hitting the OJ pretty hard and sleeping a fair bit, I HATE being sick.

Stupid virus.

Talking of the flu reminds me of the Bird flu which is an infection caused by avian (bird) influenza viruses.
So far, spread of H5N1 virus from person to person has been rare and spread has not continued beyond one person. However, because all influenza viruses have the ability to change, scientists are concerned that the H5N1 virus could one day be able to infect humans and spread easily from one person to another. You can read about it here http://www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/gen-info/facts.htm .
Tamiflu (http://www.buy-tamiflu.com/) is an antiviral drug which was invented for the purpose of treating influenza. It is the only drug that is effective in stopping the Avian/Bird Flu from spreading once exposed.
