I got a juicer for Christmas, and it's great to have really nice fresh juices, but I was wondering about the sugar. I know it's obviously better sugar than a glass of soda or store bought juice, but it takes like 4 apples to make a glass of juice, and it seems to me that eating 4 apples wouldn't be good sugar-wise, so this shouldn't be good either. The juice is really filling as well because it's thicker than normal juice. I was wondering also if it copuld be mixed with some whey and used as a meal replacement. Possibly an apple/carrot/orange juice with whey...what do you think? And also, what time of day would this be good (if at all?)
Thanks

Juice is just fruit without the healthy fiber and a lot of the nutrients/phytochemicals/antioxidants etc are also bound up in the fiber.

I would personally just eat the fruit.

Yes, fruit juice is a LOT of sugar.

If you want to make use of the juicer, use vegetables instead of fruit. Of course you still miss out on the fibre but you wont be consuming as much sugar and the juice still contains a lot of vitamins and minerals etc.

I drank vegetable juice in the mornings for years. Its a great morning pick me up, once you get used to the reduced taste and weird consistency.

I was mixing vegetable and fruit juice...carrot/orange is quite tasty. I want to certainly try using more vegetables, but mostly I was wondering about it mixed with a whey protien blend as a meal replacement.
