hi, i just started working out like around july. i started lifting for an hour for the first 3 months, with some muscle increase. then people told me i should do cardio too, and i also learned some new excersises. so my workout lasts about 1 hour and 30 min. i run 10-15 min, then work out my chest, shoulders, triceps, byceps, back, in that order, well basically all the muscles i can 3 times a week. i guess the muscle started to be noticeable these last 3 months, my chest got bigger, i guess it replaced the fat? and my arms are more defined, and lost about 2 inches in waist area. so when i was measured, chest bigger, waist smaller, and arms bigger. i think i weigh the same, but i know i have more muscle, so maybe body fat decreased a little.

i was reading that you cannot gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, unless it's very slow. is this why some fat was replaced with muscle but very slowly? what should i do now? i was thinking trying to lose fat while maintaining muscle mass with lifting. but i'm not sure what to do to speed up the fat loss process, any advice? (sorry for long post)

i'm glad that i've been working out, i've been complaining all my life and now i'm actually doing something about it. maybe i'm not being patient? oh yah, i'm 19
