The one i take says 3-6 tablets as one serving, to be taken between meals, one serving per day.

So i am taking 6 tablets on workout days, and 3 on non-workout days. And I am seperating the serving so that i have 2 tablets after each one of my first 3 meals (the last of which is my pre-workout meal). On non-workout days, 1 tablet after each one of my first 3 meals.

There is really no good explanation as to why i am doing it like this aside from not really knowing any better way to do it.

For people who take amino acids, and have to take several tablets throughout the course of the day, how do you do it? and do you take them on both workout and non-workout days?

I use Beverly Mass Amino's, and take 3-4 with every meal.(1 per 10lbs of body weight) The idea of supplementing amino's is two fold...Taking them with meals provides a more complete amino profile per meal. The other thing, is that it allows you lower your protein supplementation, by providing the amino acids that you would gain through protein intake. Or you could simply look at it as a more efficient way to provide your system with the aminos that it requires. The main purpose of protein, is to provide the amino acids that the body uses for different purposes.
I take the same amount whether I'm training or not, and consider them one of my staples. I know of some trainees that will wait and take their entire daily amount right before or during training.

I take L-Arginine/Lysine in 1000mg capsules. The bottle says to take 4 per day total. It says either at bedtime or 1 hour before exercise. So I take 2 before I workout and 2 at bedtime.

waste. just take more protein. Amino supplements should be taken on an empty stomach in order to attain their INDIVIDUAL benefits.

take amino acids whenever you want. just get a quailty protein powder, and they are filled with all the essential amino acids.

amino acids are building blocks for protein. and amino acids can turn into other amino acids if there is a shortage or to much of one.

Thank you for your input... I think that you're thinking more in line with BCAA's in regards to being taken on an empty stomach. Why would I want to take in MORE protein, when I can simply get the ending result of that protein thru amino supplementation? How would I take more protein(which is ultimately broken down into aminos I'm looking for) on an empty stomach???

Taking individual amino's is a waste of money. The FDA among others have voice safety concerbs about the use of individual amino. Protein from food or supplements will provide all the AA you'll every need.

Take them with meals. If I'm on a lean mass phase, I'll take 25-30 of Beverly's Mass Amino's during my training sessions.
