OK, Well I'm starting this diet called "The Zone". How well will this diet work for me if I'm wanting to lose fat? I'm weight lifting 5 times a week and running 3-4 times a week about 2 miles... I have a 40'' waist, and i know ive been eating a lot but I've been keeping the food consumtion down...and now I'm starting this diet so food consumtion will definatly be more healthy... Tell me your thoughts ppl

The Zone is a pretty good diet. It's a 40:30:30 diet c-p-f. It's good in that it gets you thinking about macronutrients and how to manage them in a proper ratio. Beyond that, there's not much there, but it's a good starting point.

Just my two cents here, but it sounds like you're working out way too much. You might want to drop the weights down a bit and most importantly, make sure that you're eating enough calories to support that sort of calorie burn during your day.

If you follow the zone diet properly, you'll barely be able to finish all the food you are supposed to eat. It's a good diet imo though.

Regarding the training, it's not necessarily too much if you are only working 1-2 bodyparts a day. I am doing a 5-day split myself and working 2 muscles a day, low volume, high intensity. I prefer this because I'm in and out of the gym in 30 minutes or less. I hit the hell out of 2 bodyparts and I'm out of there slamming a PWO shake.

Some good posts here. I'd also ask you to consider looking at Marcus's post here:

It might help you to think about how much food to eat. Like Slush Puppy, I'm concerned that you might not be eating enough to support that kind of excercise. But if you do, and don't work any muscle more than once each week, looks like you got a pretty good plan there. Stick to it.

Also, welcome to the JSF forums. You'll find lots of support here, keep us updated on your progress.
