I'm not sure how to determine wether hte weight I've gained is muscle or fat.

From looking quickly at your log, it seems you are trying to lose weight, not gain, correct? Either way, you've just started 9 days ago. That's too soon to be so concerned about it. I would guess you are on your way to burning out quickly. Too much, too fast, too intense. This is a long road. You didn't get to a high bf% overnight, and you won't get rid of it so fast, either. Also, remember that you are still growing, probably. So you'll gain weight from that, too -- more bone, bigger organs, more tissues, etc.

Well i want to lose fat but if i can gain muscle at the same time why not? My diet is what im struggling with right now and when we go to school it'll be even tougher. At my school we are on a block schedule it works like so:

Block 1 8:20-9:50
Passing Period (10 mins)
Block 2 10:00 - 11:30
Lunch 11:30-12:15
Block 3 12:20-1:50
Passing Perod (10 mins)
Block 4 2:00-3:30

I'll have offseason football 4th block and need help to schedule my diet. Also what kind of foods should i be eating. I can go off campus to a gas station and get some protein bars i think. Would that suffice?
