Hi all,

I am looking to buy supplements in Europe (Belgium). I need protein, glutamine and multi-vitamin. Does anybody know of a good online shop over here? Also which brands/products would you recommend?

thx

P.S. I know a lot of US sites that ship internationally but I really want to avoid the hassel of customs and taxes etc...

reflex - ive only tried holland and barretts and reflex. And reflex is less thick, and tastes better. Easier to mix too.

I used to live in Belgium until relatively recently. Though I would bring most of my supplements over from the States, I found many I wanted in the pharmacists in Belgium. I believe many of those items are controlled by governmental regulation to be only sold in Pharmacists shops there. Of course, as a result, the prices are higher. (My guess is this regulation is the result of a powerful Pharmacy Lobby in Belgium to get monopoly prices for those goods.) But if you go with top brands the quality is good. I used to get my CoQ10 there--I cannot remember the name of the brand. But I believe you need a prescription for a pot of them. As my significant other was a doctor, he wrote me all the prescriptions I needed.

Frankly, I would plan a trip to the US once a year, getting cheap flight deals from Belgium (and the fares on the same flights are always less from Belgium than form US) order what you want from on-line to be delivered in US (on-line rates can be half of what store prices are), get a year's supply (save on shipping costs too) and then just bring them back with you to Belgium. Since I went to Belgium for 8 months at a time--that's what I would do. You woukd probably save enough money to pay for the trip. And with the rising Euro relative to the dollar, US has become cheaper for Europeans to visit. :claplow:

You would get to see the U.S. too. If you go off-season you can get cheap hotel rates, get the various guides, like lonely planet or rough guide (though they are not so great on US info for restaurants and hotels.) You can also check out web sites where people post their travels and make recommendations.

thx Justitia,
that's what I have feared. I guess I go and buy them in Germany, there are a few possibilities over there.

In|sane, if you would have done a search on google yourself, you would have understood why I asked the question here.

thx
Olivier

Yes, I have to admit, it was along time before I could find CoQ10 in Belgium via the internet and I was trying to find the brand I got (which I liked very much) again and I couldn't find it. But I think it was imported from Sweden

damn

Ultra whey pro 100% with glutamine etc... costs 40 Euro for 750 gr.
this is 52Dollars for 1.5 pounds.

Shipping from the us is also pretty expensive, only the shipping costs 40$ and that is not even express. I can buy lots of tuna for that... :D

See, I told ya! come visit the glorious US and order your stuff here. Might as well get a trip out of it. Kind of like Americans buying a car over in Europe -where it was cheaper. The savings would essentially pay for their trip plus they would have their car to drive around while in Europe (a little tough when left hand drive in England. :p )
